Jon is a senior chemistry major in the College of Arts and Sciences hailing from Portland, Oregon. As an avid outdoorsman, Jon spent many days and nights backpacking and exploring the Pacific Northwest before coming to Cornell. After developing an interest in organic chemistry in his freshman year and spending a summer synthesizing polymers in an industrial lab, Jon decided to join the Lin Group to further his understandings of organic synthesis and step into the worlds of catalysis and electrochemistry. He is currently working on projects related to radical redox-relay catalysis and the computational study of energetic materials. Outside of the lab, Jon enjoys playing bluegrass guitar, cross-country skiing, and tossing frisbee around campus when the Ithaca weather allows.
