Juno Siu

MSci. University College London
Advisor: Daren J. Caruana

Juno grew up in the rural parts of Hong Kong where his earliest interests in science was allowed to blossom. He affectionately recalled his golden age in high school, when he established his very own laboratory in the attic; equipped with a rotavap and even a UV-vis. There was a particularly memorable night where he had blown up a container in an attempt to use supercritical CO2 to extract limonene, without being beaten by the truth, he decided to pursue his chemistry career in University College London. Having also worked in Switzerland, his diverse educational background has been confusing to himself and others around him but he frequently embraces his false British identity for the banters here, in Murica. Claimed to be a green energy storage chemist, Juno is pursuing his PhD degree in Chemistry in Song Lin’s group. His interest in electrochemistry and catalytic organic synthesis will hopefully contribute to solving the energy storage problem.
