Peng Yu

Peng was born and raised in Shangrao, a tourism-centered city located in the northeast of Jiangxi Province, China. He started his Ph.D. studies at Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung under the supervision of Prof. Bill Morandi. After about three years at MPI, he moved to ETH Zurich in Switzerland to continue his Ph.D.  studies, and earned his Ph.D.  in 2019. His Ph.D.  research was focused on developing reactions via shuttle catalysis. Thereafter, he moved to the U.S. and joined Prof. Brad Carrow’s lab at Princeton University as a postdoc, where he studied cross-coupling reactions using copper and palladium catalysts. In January 2021, he moved to Ithaca to join Song’s lab to start his second postdoc. His research here focuses on developing new catalytic reactions.
