Samson Zacate

Samson was born in Pullman, Washington and raised in Alexandria, Kentucky. Since Kentucky was not boring enough for him, he moved to Ohio to study chemistry at Miami University. During his time at Miami, Samson worked on electrocatalytic CO2 reduction and developed methodology for late-stage difluoromethylation in the Wei Liu group. Following his undergraduate studies, Samson completed a six-month internship at Bayer Crop Science in Monheim, Germany to get a brief experience of chemistry in industry before starting his PhD studies at Cornell University. In his free time, Samson enjoys rock climbing and playing Go.
