Tianzhang Qiao

B.S. Nankai University
Advisor: Shou-Fei Zhu

Tianzhang was born in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province in China. He finished his high school in Tianjin and went to Nankai University to study chemistry. At Nankai University, he worked on iron-catalyzed hydrosilylation reactions in Prof. Shou-Fei Zhu’s group. During his undergraduate time, he had a short internship in Prof. Keary Engle’s lab at Scripps Research and a one-year internship in Prof. Yi Tang’s lab at UCLA. He started his Ph.D. study at Cornell University in 2021. During 2021-2023, he worked on photoenzymatic reactions of nitroalkanes using ene-reductases in Prof. Todd Hyster’s group. In 2023, Tianzhang came to Song Lin’s lab to explore more exciting chemistry. Outside the chemistry, he likes video games and tennis.
